ReverseGuard is designed with four sensors integrated into a patented license plate frame (Frame System) or bar design (Flex System). Both systems use ultrasound, the technology of choice of car manufacturers, to alert the driver when any person or object is behind the vehicle. The system is automatically engaged when the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear. ReverseGUARD will sense when people or objects are within six to eight feet of the rear of the vehicle and will alert the driver by emitting an intermittent alarm inside the vehicle. As the vehicle moves closer to the person/object, the alarm alerting the driver sounds more rapidly until a steady alarm signal is heard at a distance of two feet. Installation is straightforward, requiring a simple connection to the vehicle back up light wire. Installation time is 30 minutes for most vehicles.
